Procedure Steps
Dental Implant
Dental Assessment by a Dentist
Create a dental model and take X-rays to assess the jawbone alignment for implant suitability.
Bone grafting for dental support (if necessary)
For patients with insufficient bone density to support dental implants, a bone graft may be performed beforehand or simultaneously with the implant placement, depending on the specialist's assessment."
Surgical placement of the dental implant.
The dentist will administer local anesthesia to minimize pain and make an incision in the gum to create a space for the implant. The titanium implant will then be placed into the jawbone. After the implant is positioned, the dentist will suture the incision closed.
Recovery Period
Most patients require a 2-3 month recovery period after implant placement. However, if a bone graft is performed alongside the implant procedure, the recovery period may extend to 4-6 months.
Prosthetic Dentistry
The dentist will take an impression of the mouth to create a dental crown, bridge, or denture. Once prepared, the prosthetic will be fitted and placed accordingly.
Maintenance and Regular Check-ups
Good oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups every six months, or as recommended, can help extend the lifespan of dental implants.
